Kidz Parkway Is Hosting Another Family Connect Event!

At Parkway Church, we love creating opportunities to connect with each other and our community, and that’s why Kidz Parkway is hosting another Family Connect event, right here on Parkway’s campus! We chatted with Heather Miller and Crystal Pacheco, Kidz Parkway leaders, to get the details for this fun-filled afternoon planned for next weekend.

February Family Connect Event: The Details

What To Expect at the February Family Connect Event

This Family Connect Event will be hosted in Parkway’s Event Center, and all are encouraged to bring their kids, grandkids, nieces, nephews, neighbors, or any other guests, and join Kidz Parkway families for an afternoon of fellowship and fun!

The afternoon will include arts and crafts, family trivia, basketball, free play, and more.

Event Schedule

From 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., there will be a variety of both free play and structured activities, including organized sports, a crafting station, and interactive family trivia at 3:30 p.m.

From 5 p.m. to 6 p.m., there will be an optional Family Dinner! You can either bring along your own meal to the event or pre-order Jimmy John’s for your family when you register by February 14th.

Please note that families should attend this event together. This means parents or guardians are required to stay with their children and provide supervision.

Come stay, play, and connect as long as works for your family!

Kidz Parkway’s Past Family Connect Events Have Been a Hit!

This isn’t the first Family Connect event that our amazing Kidz Parkway team has hosted — in 2023, there were two other events.

One had a similar to format to the upcoming February event, where families played sports, did crafts, and spent time socializing. The other was an incredible off-campus outing where families attended a Milwaukee Milkmen game and enjoyed a fireworks show together.

“In both cases, families raved about how much fun they had and how much they enjoyed connecting with other families from church outside of a Sunday morning setting,” said Crystal.

Seeing the Impact of Connect Events

These family-focused events give an opportunity for both Parkway members and community members to build and foster relationships with other families in a warm, welcoming, and fun atmosphere.

“Past Family Connect events have allowed families to have the time and space to cultivate relationships,” Heather said. “It gives both adults and children time to visit and have more than a passing conversation.”

Kidz Parkway has even more Family Connect events planned for 2024 in addition to the upcoming February Connect! In the summer, another off-campus event is being planned, along with an on-campus event in the fall.

Want to Get Involved in Kidz Parkway’s Family Connect Events?

If you’re wondering what you can do to help move the vision of these connect events forward, there are a couple of things you can do to help!

1. Attend the Event

Bring your kids, attend the event, and connect with local families to help build our wonderful community.

2. Invite a Guest

This event is open to the public and open to all ages! You can use this opportunity to do some outreach and invite a guest to move Parkway’s mission forward. Love: God. Others. Mission.

“This event is the perfect way to engage in the church's mission,” Heather said. “By inviting your friends and family, you can show them that Parkway is a place they are welcome and will feel loved.”

3. Volunteer at the Event

While the Family Connect events are put on by the Kidz Parkway leadership team and volunteers, any others who would like to get involved on-site at the event are welcome to volunteer.

“Our volunteers lead activities, offer event logistical support, or help with clean up,” Crystal explained. “Those wishing to help in a volunteer capacity are welcome to register for the event and select their willingness to volunteer.”
