Parkway's "Reflecting" Small Group Series is Coming Up! Here's What You Need to Know

Parkway's "Reflecting" Small Group Series is just around the corner! We caught up with Kathy Lemberger, Parkway’s Small Groups Coordinator, and we couldn't be more excited to share what this series has in store for you!

This fall, we are diving into an eight-week journey of spiritual growth and personal reflection. If you're wondering what small groups at Parkway Church are all about or want to know more about the upcoming series, keep reading to find out why this season’s series is the perfect time to dive in.

About Parkway’s Small Groups

At Parkway Church, we believe that small groups are the heartbeat of our church community. But what are small groups? These regular, organized gatherings happen off-campus in homes or within the community throughout the week. The purpose of these groups is simple: to help people live out Parkway’s mission to Love: God, Others. Mission.

Whether you're new to Parkway or have been attending for years, small groups are a great way to connect on a deeper level. We typically have around 40 different groups for each season, and approximately 12-15 groups meet year-round! These gatherings provide a space for members to grow spiritually, develop friendships, and walk out their faith in practical ways.

No matter what stage of life you're in, there's a small group at Parkway that will help you build meaningful relationships while growing closer to God.

What is the "Reflecting" Small Group Series?

The fall small group series will run for eight weeks, ending just before Thanksgiving. It’s designed to complement the messages being preached on Sunday mornings during this time, giving you an opportunity to dive deeper into the themes of each sermon.

Kathy explained that, during the series, we will study the love of Jesus in action. This includes themes and topics like:

  • His humility

  • His empathy

  • His teaching

  • His discipleship

  • His compassion

  • His healing

  • His generosity

“We will also look at the boldness found in the people of God,” Kathy explained. “As well as the importance of being good stewards of our time and talents.”

As with all Parkway small group series, the goal of "Reflecting" is to foster both spiritual and relational growth, while also furthering God's kingdom. Through biblical reading, discussion, and shared experiences, you'll find yourself connecting more with God and the people around you.

We believe that, by participating in this series, you'll be equipped with the tools and support needed to grow in faith and reflect biblical love in every area of your life.

Why Parkway Church Commits to the Small Group Philosophy

At Parkway Church, we are passionate about small groups because the Bible calls us to live in community with one another. Kathy explained that scripture encourages us to love, serve, and have fellowship with one another. It also calls us to bear one another’s burdens, rejoice and weep with one another, spur one another on to good works, and confess our sins to each other. However, she pointed out that it’s difficult to accomplish this in such a large church setting. But small groups provide a perfect environment to practice these biblical principles.

Being involved in a small group allows us the benefits of community and helps us form the meaningful relationships that will encourage us to grow in God and become better equipped to fulfill the Great Commission.
— Kathy Lemberger

While our larger church family is vibrant and full of life, small groups allow us to form more personal connections. These intimate settings help us build relationships that encourage spiritual growth, accountability, and a deeper walk with God.
